Getting started

From an email address to an app running on its own HTTPS address.

1. Sign in

Go to the dashboard and enter your email address. We send you a link that signs you in; it works once and expires after a few minutes. You can add a password later from your account page.

Your account comes with a team of its own, on the Hobby plan. Invite the people you work with from the Team page.

2. Top up

datahuru is prepaid. On the Billing page, top up with M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas or Airtel Money (you approve the payment on your phone) or with a card. Once your balance covers your plan's first day, you can deploy.

3. Deploy an app

Choose Deploy app, then either:

  • an image from a registry, such as nginx:alpine; or
  • a repository on GitHub, GitLab, Gitea or Forgejo. datahuru builds it, and every push to your branch builds and ships a new release.

Give the app the port it listens on. When the release is live, the app has its own HTTPS address, shown on its page.

4. Look after it

  • Deployments shows every release; roll back to any of them in one click.
  • Variables holds its configuration and secrets. See variables and secrets.
  • Domains connects your own domain. See custom domains.
  • Settings sets replicas, CPU and memory, a health check, and whether it sleeps when idle.
